Interruption Lists are a compilation of words signifying an interruption to speech. These words and phrases were compiled as I watched and read the testimony given by female witnesses and nominees before the United States Senate Judiciary Committee. Women speaking in official and public settings face the challenge of near-constant interruption. The concept of an interruption has additional meaning in this work:  the contemporary moment constitutes an interruption to “normal” life. Materially, these lists are created through an elaborate, overly complicated process of stenciling onto vinyl laid atop carbon paper and copier paper.
